Adventurland is not just an amazing film but it has a brilliant soundtrack.

The film is set in the summer of 1987 and obviously the music has to reflect the 80s. The 80s music in the USA was very different to the UK, ours was very techno and full of new romantic bands such as; Spandau Ballet and Duran Duran (this is not a bad thing), where as the american music scene was made up of' 'Arty Punk', such as; Elvis Costello. The Adventureland soundtrack is full of these 'Arty Punk' and 'New Romantic' gems.

My favourite scene is the fireworks scene...

The song used in this scene is ' Don't Dream its Over' by Crowded House, I felt that it was a pleasant suprise when the sing came on. The song really sets the mood of the scene.

If any of you have seen the film yet, let me know what you think about the soundtrack.

Songs to listen to:
Pale Blue Eyes- The Velvet Underground
Don't Dream its Over- Crowded House
Just like Heaven- The Cure

'Massive Attack'... by name and by music...

I have always thought of 'Massive Attack' as a melancholy Chemical brothers or a relaxed Radiohead, but their new album 'Heligoland' has proved to me that they are much more than this.
Heligoland is head and shoulders above their previous albums. They have stayed in line with the sound of today's music industry, which welcomes with open arms eccentric sounds and experimentation.
Heligoland consists of strange but beautiful sounds and the voices they have chosen to work with compliment the haunting sound that Massive Attack are so well known for, with epic tunes like 'Teardrop' under their belt they would be foolish to turn their back on their original sound.

Heligoland features some of today's most talented vocalists, such as; Tunde Adebimpe (Tv on the Radio), Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorrilaz), Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star) and one of my favourite lyricists Guy Garvey (Elbow).

Track's to listen to:
Pray for Rain
Spitting the Atom
Psyche
Flat of the Blade

Comment me and Let me know what you all think of Massive Attack's master piece...
